Seen at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Camp joy against the system
Bryan, Bryan and Bryan are back in the room. Their goal: to fix the economy in one hour. They are ready to discuss stocks and rates, explain 2008 and why we can’t just print more money. Very accurately, as well as acutely funny. Part comedy, part drag show, with a touch of personal stories, this explosive show boomed at this Fringe like few others.
The Boys (Maria Telnikoff, Kit Miles, and Cherry Eckel) have lots of clever ideas, which they turn into a joyful performance full of camp humour and high in energy. Perfectly timed and masterfully balanced, also thanks to movement director Frewyn Thursfield, this show has flawless composition, so much that Maria’s leg injury goes almost unnoticed.
Campitalism takes over the task of queering finance at the same time as educating the audience with notions that should be available to all. They concern big companies and state economies, yes, but also us and our choices around money – and the options available to us as savers, not only as consumers. In an age of funds constantly being cut for artists and of general crisis, it is time to finally get the conversation started about money and financial literacy.
Campitalism is the first work of BOY theatre company and probably one of the best success stories of this Fringe edition. The performers met at a casting, they were upset about their finances, had an idea, got collaborations, went to Edinburgh Fringe, sold out almost every date. Maybe they are not going to fix the economy in one hour. But maybe, and I say maybe, this is a show we really needed to see.
