4 stars – breathtaking acrobatics

Two acrobats, and the difficulties of collaborating. A female and a male body: there is a chance that she can also have him climb on her and she can carry his weight. So, they try this chance.

Many assumptions are challenged in this performance. For the largest part, this is made clear about the roles of the acrobats, as well as in their models of behaviour, especially when each of them is alone on scene, sometimes giving way to funny moments. Same goes for the clothing, with outfits that can be worn by both of them.

Their performance is full of humour and irony. They perform like a ritual, until their bodies blend together in the dimming light, and one can no longer distinguish the one from the other.

Agathe & Adrien are extremely talented, performing jumps that made the whole audience hold their breath. The absolutely remarkable light design creates a dramatic and aesthetically powerful atmosphere. Towards the end though, the rhythm slows down, and there is insistence on some themes of movement that is probably unnecessary.
