5 stars – explosive
A rodeo clown aspiring to become a cowboy is surprised by his shadow, who isn’t going to let go of him. So begins their funny story, full of energy, vitality and high spirits.
Chloe and Natasha, who not only perform in the show but also created it, appear literally unstoppable. Their choreographies and gags are original and perfectly clocked, a real pleasure to watch. Their use of the empty space (rodeo-like, with the audience distributed around the stage) is absolutely clever and dynamic, with more characters being brought on scene as the show goes on. Until sentiments (and metatheatre) come into play.
In their playful creation, Chloe and Natasha employ clown characters and acting techniques to dismantle assumptions about roles, that have become interchangeable, as well as about gender and about storytelling. Clown techniques are combined with an ironic dramaturgy, or at least a part of it…
A witty, lively show that is not to be missed.
