Federica Balbi

Founder & Author

A human exploring (mainly) Europe, reading as much as she can, seeing theatre plays, writing, acting, and learning languages. For people who wear ties or stilettos, I am an editor and a translator, with web design and SEO skills, and my working languages are Italian, English, Portuguese, French, and German.

I studied Comparative Literature, along with a lot of theatre and creative writing.

In 2019, I published two short stories on BRIZO Magazine, Moira and Sorella mia and I started working as a reviewer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2020, I obtained my Master’s degree from the Universities of Perpignan, St Andrews and Nova de Lisboa, through the exchange programme Crossways in Cultural Narratives. Thanks to my dissertation on autofiction, I became an editor for the French magazine Ecriture de Soi-R.

I keep learning, that hasn’t changed. In 2022, I won the Umbilicus Contest for my first theatre script, Greyscapes, that we presented in Rome under the direction of Luca Esposito. In 2023, I worked as an actress and assistant director. I am now working on a project that involves creative writing and theatre.
