4 stars – foot-tapping the night away like it’s the ’50s

The Blueswater is an energetic blues band hailing from Edinburgh, which does come as quite a surprise. The second they start the concert, one could be in Chicago or Mississippi, in a different era too. Prepare to dance, sweat and sing along to old-school rhythm and blues and a bit of rock’n’roll, as the six-piece band wonderfully perform their guitar riffs, harmonica solos, all led by an entertaining vocalist. They’ve earned their reputation in the UK and abroad and have returned to the iconic Jazz Bar for five groovy midnight shows during this year’s Fringe. The perfect ending to a day full of theatre and comedy!
